License Requirements
- As a tourist, you can drive in Germany on a valid U.S. license for up to 6 months without needing to obtain a German license.
- An International Driving Permit isn't strictly required if your license is already in German or English (a U.S. license qualifies), but it's still commonly recommended and often requested by rental agencies and in the event of a police stop or accident.
The Gotcha
